Jana has been a family advisor in senior living for over five years, helping families find the right communities for their loved ones. She was in the senior living industry as a “mystery shopper” for several years before that, visiting and reporting on over 125 communities nationwide, and gaining a keen eye for spotting the differences. Jana is a native of Atlanta and has navigated the difficult path of dementia and senior living quandaries with her own parents and relatives for the last 20 years. Jana and her husband, Craig Frankel, live in Morningside and have three grown children and a new daughter-in-law!

Melissa Benton

Melissa’s caregiving journey with her family began in 2005. Over the course of 6 years, Melissa experienced first-hand, the struggles and successes, of in-home care, vetting senior living communities, assisted living, Alzheimer’s care, skilled care and hospice. Believing others could benefit from her experience, she left her career in business & education to co-found Atlanta Senior Advocates in 2015. As an expert in senior living, she joined Senior Living Solutions in 2022 as a Family Advisor by continuing to help families navigate the challenges of aging parents and provide thoughtful guidance in senior living options. She dedicates her work to her grandparents, Winnie and Bud.

Amy Gandolfo

Family Advisor

amy@atlantasrliving.com

Amy has worked with seniors for over 30 years as either a volunteer or a family advisor for senior living. She provides empathy and compassion for her families and can relate to the emotions involved as she recently moved her own dad from his home to a community. Amy’s goal is to make the transition a little less overwhelming. Volunteering is also important to her as she continues to deliver Meals on Wheels and volunteers with the Caring Connection at her Church. Amy lives in the Atlanta area with her husband and two grown children.

Julie Cornmesser

Family Advisor

julie@atlantasrliving.com

After helping her mother navigate memory care options for her father who had Alzheimer’s disease, Julie changed her career from real estate to working as a Director of Marketing at a senior living community in metro Atlanta. Through that, she gained insider knowledge about the operational benchmarks and challenges of a senior community and got invaluable feedback from the families she helped. One of her favorite things was hanging out with the residents playing songs for them on her ukulele. Eventually, she moved into placement and has been involved in that for close to five years. Julie recently got married which increased the Cornmesser population in the United States to 152! Julie, her husband and their territorial Chihuahua/Beagle mix live in Woodstock.
